A heat wave evening freshened by a variable wind from 4 to 10 knots South West. The wind started stronger, peaking to 15 knots. Usually buoy F is the windiest part of the course, in fact for all of the Lake of Two Mountains. Therefore, it is advised not overrely on the wind at this place to make last minute changes. Fifteen minutes after the start, around the buoy A, the wind had dropped to a mere 5 knots. The start was quite busy with a great concentration of boats around the buoy. The course F-A-D-E-B was completed in a little over an hour by the race leaders. Again all the participants had a wonderful evening and in this heat, racing on the lake was the best place to be! EM
